U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Although the Master include theoretical contents to complete the student’s formation, the subjects are mainly focused in instrumental techniques and methods that experts use in research, development, and innovation areas. Topics about company structure and entrepreneurship, and a practical module in external companies are also included in the Master. The different subjects and teacher’s formation result in an interdisciplinary formation for the students, being involved in areas such as synthetic chemistry, material science, food science, plant biotechnology, or biomedicine, among others.
